Dear Diary,
Today seemed to go a lot better than yesterday. I wore my lucky shirt and jeans. I felt like I did really good on my math test. At lunch, the cafeteria served fish sticks, creamed corn, and a roll. So I traded with my friend, my fish for his roll. I don't usually eat school lunch because my mom makes me a sack lunch which I always love but this morning she was running late and had to help my brother get to kindergarten. Here I am, stuck eating rolls because the school insists on serving gross fish sticks for lunch.
It was in the lunch room where I saw her next. She looked so cute! Her hair was pulled up in a pony tail over to one side and she was wearing denim overalls with a sweatshirt tied around her waist. I knew that I had to make my move soon, but the table where she was sitting was completely full. I was sitting a couple of tables away from her table and I sat down opposite her so I could have a good view. She had a sack lunch was almost done eating. We had ten minutes before the next class started. It was now or never! Planning on going over there to talk to her, I stood up and took my tray over to the tray cart. As I turned around to head back to talk to her, I noticed that she must have finished because she started walking the other way, towards class! Suddenly, I felt my heart pounding, my pulse quickening! I started walking faster, I wanted, I needed to catch up to her. I still felt a little embarrased about yesterday. I needed to let her know that I am not a complete idiot. With every step that I took, I drew closer to her. And finally being just a few feet away, I caught up to her but I was out of breath! I couldn't speak. I couldn't slow my heart rate down. I suddenly started feeling light-headed and my vision blurred. Then everything went dark.
The next thing I knew, I woke up in the school nurse's office. I was laying down on the little bed and there was a bandage over my head. I must have fainted and bumped my head. I looked across the room on the opposite wall was a clock. The time said 3:47. I missed the rest of school but more importantly I missed my chance to talk to the girl of my dreams. Oh no! She was right there when I fainted! My heart sank from embarrasment again! I can't believe I did something stupid like that again! Just then, I heard my mom's voice outside of the room talking with the school nurse. I'm glad that my mom came to pick me up especially since I missed the bus. Now, if only I talk to her tomorrow without messing it up I still may have a chance talk to her before Valentine's Day.
