Okay, usually at night, I never have to get out of bed for anything. I do pretty well sleeping all night. But last night, I woke up in the middle of the night and had the urge to use the bathroom. I know that you have all been in this situation before. If you claim that you haven't then you're lying. This post is more about the way that I felt rather than the situation that I was in. I must have been wiped out! I sat up in bed and just sat there for a minute, trying to overcome the sleep that penetrated me. I was so tired that I almost fell back asleep sitting on the edge of the bed.
Finally, I gained what little stamina and coordination that I had and walked (or rather stumbled) in the dark over the the bathroom. The small back lit display on the stereo that was in the bathroom was my beacon shining brightly. Disoriented and feeling like I was on the verge of sleep walking, I was finally able to make it to the bathroom. I dared not to turn on the light fearing that I would be blinded by the light and then be in a worse situation than I was already in. Now during all of this, I was convinced that this time of night did not have a place reserved for it on a clock. I just happened to see those brightly glowing digits on same afore mentioned stereo. 3:37 AM. That's not possible, I thought. There's no such time that exists. I had just experienced a time void. A place where time doesn't exist. Sure there have been times (some recently) that I have stayed up that late but I could swear that I was experiencing something completely impossible.
