Happy St. Patrick's Day, Shamrock

In the spirit of St. Patrick's Day, I searched and found a Super Hero worthy of this GREEN holiday. Shamrock is from the Marvel Universe. Up until now, I really did not know anything about Shamrock. She probably won't ever make it to the big screen or ever hit the mainstream popularity that other Marvel characters enjoy like Spiderman, X-Men, Avengers, Captain America, Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, and others. I hope you enjoy this Super Hero post and stay-tuned for the rest of Super Hero Week!

Real Name: Molly Fitzgerald

Aliases: None

Identity: Secret

Occupation: Hair stylist, adventurer; former schoolteacher

Citizenship: Ireland

Place of Birth: Dunshaughlin, Ireland

Known Relatives: Paddy Fitzgerald (brother, deceased), unnamed parents (deceased)

Group Affiliation: None

Education: High school graduate

Height: 5’10”

Weight: 135 lbs.

Eyes: Green

Hair: Red

Powers
Molly Fitzgerald was somehow mystically changed to become a vessel for souls of people who had died as innocent victims of war. Whenever Molly finds herself in physical trouble, a displaced poltergeist will manifest itself for a fraction of an instant as a telekinetic burst of energy that ultimately causes improbable incidents to occur for her benefit. This "good luck power" seems to also manifest in allowing events to fall in Molly's favor, although this may be simply coincidence in light of the full origins of her powers. Molly assumes these powers to have been depleted.

Abilities: Molly is an above-average athlete.

Weapons: None

Paraphernalia: None

First Appearance: Marvel Super Hero Contest of Champions#1 (1982)

Origin: Marvel Comics Presents #24

Significant Issues: Rom #65 (helped in the worldwide effort to oust the Dire Wraiths); Alpha Flight #108 (attended the Pan-European Conference on Super-Human Affairs); Excalibur #108 (believing her luck powers depleted, became a hairdresser)

Wow! What a sweet super heroine. I would rather fight the Dark Knight than a irish blooded red head who knew that a life of hairdressing would await her if she didn't soundly kick my trash. Great find Curt.
